Susan Wellingham lives on a property near the picturesque town of Esk. It is here in her garden studio that she is inspired by her surroundings. Susan\\\'s artwork focuses on moments of meaning and connection to the natural world. She embraces the opportunity to pay attention, look more closely and respond. This response manifests itself in her watercolour paintings where wonderous moments are captured.
Watercolours became Susan’s preferred medium as they allowed her to work quickly to capture the moment. Her style is somewhat impressionistic, where the backgrounds are kept soft and where more delicate details are painted in the main subject, creating focus.
Susan\\\'s paintings invite the viewer to slow down, take a closer look and to experience some of the magic.
Susan has conducted many watercolour workshops and has been selected to show her work in exhibitions and art shows around Queensland. She has also held three solo exhibitions within the last 12 months.
