Dennis calls himself a “tired, retired dairy farmer” — but don’t let that fool you. What started with someone lighting up his wooden mailbox and a scrap-metal replacement turned into something much bigger. Using old farm machinery and a welder’s eye for possibility, Dennis began turning cast-off steel into striking sculptural art.
His mailboxes now line Cedar Pocket Road, each one a little different, each one sparking the imagination — what do you see in the steel? A bird, a bull, a farmer bent to his work? Dennis leaves that up to you. His work also marks the entrance to “ Haven House”, a quiet statement of craftsmanship greeting all who arrive.
These days, Dennis turns his creations toward a good cause, donating his art to support charities across the region.
